A document summarising the learning from NSAB multi agency safeguarding audits completed during 2024/25 has been published.

Multi-agency safeguarding audits provide understanding to the extent to which learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) has been embedded in practice. The findings help the NSAB to further improve policy, procedures, and practice.

The multi-agency safeguarding audit schedule is informed by recurring themes identified in local SARs and national analysis.

During 2024/25 there were 3 themed audits undertaken which covered:

  • Domestic abuse
  • Principles of engagement
  • Safeguarding where the individual has needs in relation to drugs and/or alcohol

Each audit consists of up to 10 people linked to the theme being reviewed.
