Identification and Brief Advice (IBA): Alcohol and Drugs Training

Newcastle Public Health have scheduled a number of their Identification and Brief Advice : Alcohol and Drugs Training Sessions.

The 3-hour training session is available for individuals working or volunteering in Newcastle with young people, young adults and/or adults who use or misuse substances; and who would like to increase their awareness, knowledge and skills.

The aim of the Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) Programme is to increase the number of individuals competent to effectively deliver alcohol and drug screening and subsequent brief advice in Newcastle. The session will provide a basic understanding about drugs and alcohol:

• Harms

• Identification

• Brief advice

• Referral pathways
