Myth busting safeguarding adults
People have told us they can be unsure of safeguarding and worried about speaking out. We’ve created this short video to explain what it means to keep adults safe. It also clears up some common mistakes people make when talking about safeguarding. You’ll hear from people who have been through the safeguarding process and shared what it was like for them.
Safeguarding means keeping adults safe from abuse and neglect. It’s about people and organisations working together to prevent harm and take action when needed – whilst also respecting the adult’s wellbeing, views, wishes, and beliefs.
Safeguarding is a positive action, done to protect adult’s at risk. Safeguarding is not about blame.
