Newcastle ‘Tackling Sexual Exploitation’ Conference

"Brave" graffiti produced by survivors of sexual exploitation

To share the learning from the Joint Serious Case Review on Sexual Exploitation (JSCR) in Newcastle, in November 2018 the NSCB and NSAB hosted a national conference. Over 200 people from all over the country attended and included victims of sexual exploitation.

The JSCR highlighted much excellent work happening in Newcastle to identify and respond to sexual exploitation of adults, including the multi-agency Sexual Exploitation Hub.

Dame Louise Casey (ex Government Director General for Troubled Families) was the key note speaker at the conference and she praised the approach taken in Newcastle to tackling sexual exploitation in the city.

The bravery of the victims has always been at the forefront of our minds in Newcastle, as well as ensuring their voices continue to be heard.
